Schade, dass beton nicht brennt2022 - 24 pages
Printed in the form of a tabloid newspaper, Schade, dass Beton nicht brennt ! features a selection of photographs of buildings in different architectural styles ranging from Bauhaus style modernism to post-socialist post-modernism, taken in different countries, this newspaper shows some of our architecture photography that aren’t part of a specific project.
The title, Schade, dass beton nicht brennt !, is in reference to a slogan used in 70s/80s squatter movement and Anselm Jappe’s book Béton, arme de construction massive du capitalisme, and aims to be a starting point for reflection on concrete as a construction material, it's overuse and ecological/social impact. But it's also used with a hint of irony, showing our love of many architectural styles in which concrete is an essential part and which need protecting, caring and renovation today.
